How Many Articles Should You Write?

If you are new you might be wondering how many articles you need to write.  How many articles do you have to write to make money?  How many articles should you write for each niche?  How many articles should you write each day?

As you hear many times when it comes to internet marketing…there is no magic number or formula for success.  Unfortunately, I can’t tell you “write X number of articles to make X amount of money.”

Every niche and even every keyword is different, so treat things on a case by case basis.  There have been times where I wrote a short article that ranked in the top 5 in Google without any backlinks.  There were other times when I had to write lots of articles and get lots of backlinks before anything actually stuck in the search engines.

The point is that you shouldn’t expect instant success…just keep writing and success will come eventually.  And focus on optimizing your articles since they won’t rank well if you don’t optimize them.  One properly written article will outperform five articles written without any SEO efforts.

One tip for beginners is to keep writing until you get your mug.  At Ezinearticles, you start out with a Basic account and then can get a Platinum account.  After you write a certain number of articles (I don’t know the exact number) they will send you a mug and coffee…it’s not money, but it’s a nice gesture and it means you have a decent number of articles out there now.  By this point you should be making money, and on your way to improvement if you keep it up.

Another question is concerning how much to write each day.  Obviously, the more you write the better.  If you are a fast writer and can submit 10 articles each day, that is great and you will most likely reach your goals faster than if you are only submitting one article a week.

I would recommend a minimum of at least one article per niche per day.  You want to be active if you want to succeed with article marketing, so at least write on article each day, but again, do as much as you can if you really want good results.

One last tip is to do your keyword research and compile as many profitable keywords as you can.  Then write one article for each keyword.  If one of those articles is successful, write a few more articles targeting that same keyword.  Get backlinks to the articles that rank well.  You can even put up a simple webpage targeting that keyword and start expanding.

Don’t focus on the number of articles you have- just focus on working more and optimizing properly and success will come.
